Beginning Serger Class - 10 Minute Gift Bag
This is a beginner-friendly serger class: a great way to learn various serger techniques, including straight construction seams with a 4 thread overlock, 2 ways to end serger tails, outside corners, ect. You'll learn 4 variations of a classic bag design, including how to apply a band and to box corners. You'll have cute reusable gift bags to take home, so come join us for fun and success.
We will be taking our sergers out of the closet and using them to finish our projects with a perfect look and feel.
If you already own a serger, know it well, and can thread it for the four thread overlock stitch prior to class, great. Please call Rose Page at (240) 309-4019 so we know if you are bringing a serger or need to use ours.

| Materials Included: | The $10.00 kit includes all material needed to complete the gift bags and may be purchased on the day of class. |
| Requirements: | Bring your basic sewing supplies as listed in Class Guidelines on the website. Specifically, you need a rotary cutter and small cutting mat, fabric snips, straight ruler, straight pins, light & dark colored fabric markers or chalk, fabric glue, measuring tape, fray check, small ironing mat and travel iron (if possible). Please bring a drink, bagged lunch or snack, sweater, and a face mask. |

| Instructor Bio: | Randee Hamblin has been teaching sewing and serger classes for decades, most recently at G Street Fabrics in Rockville, MD. She has a relaxed and encouraging style, to ensure that each student has a successful learning experience. She also has numerous fiber art hobbies, and is one of 20 artists whose works are sold at New View Fiber Works in Leonardtown, on the Square. |
