Woven Tissue Holders

Hide that tissue packet in a beautiful woven holder that expresses your character with numerous embroideries.  As a bonus, you get to use up a lot of scrapes you have been stowing away. You also will learn the proper terminology for elements of a woven project. With this project you will learn embroidery techniques and assembly in the hoop techniques. You will also improve your eye by selections matching fabric & thread colors.  Several issues, i.e., crying, happiness, nature blessed & beauty will be available to you.

Supplies:

  • A machine in good working order and embroidery unit.
  • The foot pedal and power cord for your machine
  • 6D Embroidery Foot
  • 200x200mm Hoop
  • Assortment of Embroidery Threads
  • Turning tool
  • New 80/12 Needle
  • Personal pressing station.
Class Preparation:

  • Please arrive 15-30 minutes early so you can set up and be ready to start on time.  Your machine should be in top working order.
Don't have an embroidery machine, call us to make arrangements to rent one.  
This project will challenge beginners and will delight experienced people.  It offers a challenging "follow directions" lesson. Also the finished project is very useful, our friends will want several.


Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: Student must know their sewing machine. They must know how to independently thread their sewing machine, change the thread, wind a bobbin, insert the bobbin, sew a straight line, and use a straight ruler. If you don't have an embroidery machine, call us to make arrangements to rent one.
Requirements: Bring your sewing machine (in good working condition), the embroidery arm, the power cord and foot pedal, hoops, the user's manual, an empty bobbin, and basic sewing supplies as listed in Class Guidelines on the website. Specifically, you need fabric snips, straight pins and/or clips, light and dark colored fabric marker, 12 inch straight ruler, small ironing mat and travel iron (if possible). Please bring a drink, snack, sweater, and a face mask.
Instructor: Joe
Instructor Bio: Joe is an excellent instructor with years of experience sewing, quilting, and embroidering. Joe has made this beach bag several dozen times for classes and friends. As a retired wood shop teacher, he has years of knowledge and experience teaching in a classroom setting. This will be a fun and educational class.
