Sewing: Beach Bag
In this class you will learn how to construct a basic tote bag including boxed corners, sturdy straps, exterior pockets, and modified French seams.
Time allowing, you will then construct a basic flat pouch with a front zipper and tether it to the main tote. If time does not permit, we will provide you with verbal and written instructions so that you can finish the pouch at home. If you need one-on-one instruction, we will extend an invitation to you for our Sunday Sewing with Rose (free-of-charge) to assist you with completing your pouch.
Neither the beach bag or the pouch will be lined.
In the kit, we provide the pattern, cut-to-size pieces of all fabric, webbing, pet screen, matching thread, a zipper and ribbon for the attached pouch. The kit will be available the day of class and the cost is $30. All Kits have a built-in discount. Additional kits purchased at $35.00 and do not include the pattern or the discount.

| Skill Details: | Student must know their sewing machine. They must know how to independently thread their sewing machine, change the thread, wind a bobbin, insert the bobbin, sew a straight line, and use a straight ruler. |
| Materials Included: | There is an additional fee of $30.00 for the kit. Stop A kit has been prepared for each student by the shop. The kit includes all material needed to complete the beach bag and tethered pouch. |
| Requirements: | Bring your sewing machine (in good working condition), the power cord and foot pedal, the user's manual, an empty bobbin, and basic sewing supplies as listed in Class Guidelines on the website. Specifically, you need a 12" ruler, small fabric scissors and other scissors (not for fabric) to cut the zipper, straight pins and/or clips, light colored chalk marker, small ironing mat and travel iron (if possible) and an empty bobbin. Please bring a drink, bagged lunch or snack, sweater, and a face mask. |

| Instructor Bio: | Joe is an excellent instructor with years of experience sewing, quilting, and embroidering. Joe has made this beach bag several dozen times for classes and friends. As a retired wood shop teacher, he has years of knowledge and experience teaching in a classroom setting. This will be a fun and educational class. |
